Employers are required by law to purchase worker’s compensation insurance to cover injuries at work. This insurance provides compensation for weekly wage loss and loss of function; pays reasonable medical expenses; in some instances, provides vocational retraining; and, if the worst happens, it provide death benefits to the families of workers who die because of an incident on the job. This insurance coverage provides benefits for workers regardless of who is at fault for the injuries.

Unfortunately, worker’s compensation insurance carriers deny or dispute claims in nearly one-half of all cases, and routinely reject payment for necessary medical treatment and care including major surgeries, prescriptions, physical therapy, medical devices, and specialized referrals. These interferences with treatment can cause agonizing pain and disability.
